This fun-filled adventure provides the full Anchorage experience, giving you a close look at Anchorage’s surrounding trails and wilderness, the history of the city and local life. It is ideal if you have only a few hours to spend in Anchorage, as your first introduction when you arrive or for a final look at the beauty of Alaska before you board your bus or train to depart.

This is an approximate 90-minute guided tour on a Segway PT.

What Will We Do?

Learning to ride a Segway is simple, fun and safe for the whole family! Before starting the tour, you will watch a safety video. You guide will then lead orientation, training and practice on the Segway through before you head out. Your helmet will be provided.

Things you may see include:

  • King silver salmon returning from the ocean to spawn at Ship Creek or fish of prize-winning-size being pulled from the water (based on the season)
  • Anchorage’s unofficial mascot, Star the Reindeer 

  • A breath-taking view of Cook Inlet, the Alaska Range, Denali and Mount Susitna 

  • The Alaska Statehood Monument with views of Anchorage’s original town site 

  • The historic Alaska Railroad Depot 

  • Town Square in the heart of downtown with its fabulous flower displays 

  • Westchester Lagoon and its multitudes of migratory bird inhabitants 

  • The Delaney Park Strip and Centennial Rose Garden 

  • The Tony Knowles Coastal Trail as it winds along the water, one of the most beautiful coastal trails in the nation

Each tour may vary slightly to best fit the group, the riders’ experience, comfort and interests.

How to Prepare

  • Bring appropriate clothing for the weather, i.e., jacket, gloves, hat

  • Wear closed-toe shoes
  • Bring only small bags or purses

  • Your tour guide will take individual and group pictures while you are on the Segways.
  • For safety reasons, participants are not allowed to take photos of themselves, other group members or scenery while on the Segway tour.
